1/5

Gek Teng , 4/6

Firstly I want to say that I'm honoured to be selected again to be a part of the Secondary One Orientation Camp 2009. I've been an OGL for the past 3 years, since Secondary 2 and have had alot of fun times during the camp. This year as an OGL leader, i've learnt even more things and have gained more experience. I get to lead the group and interact with them. At first it wasn't easy to get them hyped up for the camp, but i felt a sense of achievement and happiness as my group of OGLs and myself finally got the group to open up and make friends.
I realised that being an OGL leader has more responsiblities compared to a normal OGL. Sometimes it's hard for me to have fun all the times as i will tend to neglect my group's needs. i need to be serious at times and have to make sure everything was alright, and that none of my group members were hurt, etc. although it's abit stressful to handle it, especially when you have a missing boy every now and then, i'm just glad we all came through it.
Overall i think this camp was organised well, despite some problems and confusion that happened in between the camp. i think effective communication should be one of the key aspects to a well-organised event.
to my group 1/5a, thank you for making my last Secondary One Orientation camp a meaningful one. i've learnt alot of you guys, as much as you've learnt from me. i hope you all will continue this enthusiastic attitude for your future endeavours and wish everyone the best of luck!
and to my efficient group of OGLs. haha, we've come a long way! thank you for being such good working partners. i've certainly made some good friends along the way! especially Ain from 1/5b, we've gone through alot girl! may we all continue to stay in touch yeas? ;D

The overall orientation camp was quite fun . The games were interesting .
However , i think it would be more fun and exciting if the camp was 3 days 2 nites .
I hope that it would be possible nxt yr ? At the beginning of the camp , during the first day , the students of 1/5 B was not very friendly .
The impression some of the boys left on me were not very nice . Some of the boys were very selfish , especially when me and the other ogls were trying to get some help in refilling the bottles .
They expressed selfishness by not wanting to help the girls out in refilling the bottles too .
I admit i was quite upset when i witnessed it .
That was why me and another ogl placed alot of emphasis on class unity and helping out one another in times of need .
At the very least , by the end of the camp , we managed to see improvements in the students .
The bond between them increased , and they are getting along well much more .
As an ogl , i feel quite pleased and satisfied at the end of the day .
I hope to have a chance to be an ogl again next year (:
Thankyous !

Way ahead of the camp i was already very excited and looking forward to it . When the day finally came for us to meet our new sec one juniors, I was more than ready. Having gone through sec one orientation camp in my first year as a rivisidian and now as a student leader leading the class 1/5b, i really gained alot of experiences.
Taking care of the class may be tough sometimes when they do not cooperate but it's wonderful to know that you still have other ogls lending their help and support to you. It was also heart-warming to know from them that they enjoyed the camp and some even inspired to be ogls next time !
Looking at the sec ones now made me think of how i have gone through those tough times in riverside and made it this far. There have been problems and stuffs but still we've all manage to hang on. Hopefully they too will come to enjoy themselves in riverside as well as bond together as a class.

Sec 1 orientation camp was basically a new and unforgettable experience for me. By leading 1/5 throughout the camp brought me a lot of joy and laughter. During the last day of the camp, I felt sad as 1/5 were very cooperative and seriously I can't bear with them when it's time to leave. They were too adorable!!! (: However, I suggest for better food and wish that there'll be overnight for the next batch. (:

Overall, the secondary one orientation camp was a splendid camp. I'm sure everyone had their own fair share of fun, be it planning for the camp or participating in the fun and meaningful activities in the camp. I was assigned to help out with group 1/5A "IDK" and i saw how the OGLs tried their best to keep the spirits high within the group. Congratulations to the student leaders and all who is involved in this camp in one way or another in making this camp a wonderful one.-
